Carl Pei is behind the brand - the same man who was responsible for introducing the OnePlus brand to the market. By changing the colors, he set himself the goal of creating GSM devices that would stand out with an interesting style and minimalism. In 2021, the company released its first product, which were ANC headphones. After a year, she returned to the lips of technology lovers, presenting her first phone: Nothing Phone (1). The smartphone turned out to be a mid-range device, but with very promising parameters, thanks to which it can compete with more expensive flagships.

Nothing Phone (1) is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor. It has 8 / 12 GB of RAM and 128 / 256 GB of built-in internal memory. The 6.55-inch OLED display is protected by Gorilla® Glass V. It has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (402 ppi density).

Built-in HDR10+ provides a higher contrast ratio and wider color gamut, allowing Nothing Phone (1) to display more realistic and natural images. Early reviewers praise the bright screen with 10-bit color depth.

The smartphone has a main dual-lens camera with a resolution of 50 MP (one lens is wide-angle) and a front 16 MP. Inside there is a 4500 mAh battery with Qi wireless charging technology.

The phone has dimensions 159 x 76 x 8 mm, weighs 193.5 g. It is available in two color versions: white and black. Its body is made of aluminum - 100% recycled. And this is what the Nothing brand cares about: reducing the impact of technology on the environment. The manufacturer declares that the plastic components used in production, as well as the packaging, are made of recycled fibers and materials.

Nothing Phone (1) comes in an elegant, minimalist box. The phone comes with a USB C cable and a protective film.

The absolute distinguishing feature of Nothing Phone (1) among other mid-range devices is the so-called Glyph Interface. These are interconnected LED panels located on the back of the device.

Carl Pei intended the LED panels to inform the phone user about any incoming notifications. Glyph Interface can be freely programmed: it can light up differently for a call from a specific person, and differently for an SMS message or Facebook notification. This is a great solution for everyone who does not like to be distracted by a backlit screen, e.g. at work or while meeting friends in a restaurant. As announced by the creator, the functionality of Glyph Interface is to be increased.
